Hi sprout, welcome, you will find a few other Brits here but the Americans really know their stuff!.The sheer amount of knowledge and experience with figs here is just awesome-literally,I am in awe about the amount of info you can find here.Yku are Definately in the right place.
In years to come would be happy to exchange with you,as I'm sure others will,to help grow collections respectively.
Also make sure you get out and about in Guilford,I'm sure you will find plenty of unknown figs fruiting well in your area to take cuttings from and try to ID,by far the cheapest way to expand a collection.
Make sure you use the search function on the forum,if the question comes to you chances are someone else has answered it before!.A good list of varieties can be found by searching for cold hardy figs list by flavour, lots of early,Breba producing cold hardy varieties on that list.
