Help ID Please

I saw this young fig tree for sale, took a photo to see if anyone could help me ID this fig. I want to know if it's worth buying it.

Yeah, I will give it a chance, worst case scenario I can give it away to a friend.

Good luck with your new fig tree.

IIRC, the fruit may get more flavorful as the tree matures over a couple of years.  Is that right?  If so, you shouldn't judge the quality of the tree until it's gone through a few seasons.

I think it's always worthwhile to give a plant a chance.  Aside from some garden space, what do you have to lose?

Good luck!

Jess

Looks Great!!! It's going to be a nice looking tree. The eyes have that reddish tinge. Thanks for sharing and keep us updated. I'm thinking vdb too!

Fingers crosed, I hope that tree will be an Vdb, if not at least a good quality fig.

That's a beautiful fig tree, I have a random cutting from an unknown tree that has the same leaf pattern... now that I'm comparing them they don't look as close as I thought lol, hope you find out more about yours.
Would love to see some progress pictures.

I tought it could be a VdB, but it's not.

Do you already have The VdB to compare each to? Mine has lots of single lobe leafs some 5 lobe leafs that have a long middle lobe ( longer than normal ) and some three lobe leaves, but the 5 lobe ones look the coolest.

Yes, I have a 2 year old VdB. Leaves looks very similar, but the fruit is different. It's not as dark as VdB and the taste is not the same.

Agree with JDS, LDA looks very similar.

I have a very young LDA, In a few months I should be able to compare them.
