Hello,

I would like to know what type of fig tree I have in my backyard. Our house is located in Bryan, Texas. We have lived here about 4 years and the tree has produced a nice crop each year. Last year it produced mid-July, but this year we had a hot week and it started producing just past the middle of June and is trailing off now. I am attaching some pictures.

Thank you!

Thank you for this response!
What do you mean by "final answer." Does that mean you are completely sure it is Celeste?

It's a game show term, he's throwing his guess in the hat with Celeste I assume.

I'm not sure you'll get people to say their completely sure, but if long time members keep recognizing it as the same thing, you can be "pretty" sure. lol

Alanmercieca,

Thanks for the O'Rourke lead. I am looking at the pictures and reading through. At first pass, the O'Rourke fig looks a bit more elongated, but I am still reviewing. Thank you for checking this out so carefully!

alanmercieca,

Thanks for the extra link. Many interesting thoughts and pictures. There are just so many similarities and slight differences between all of the pictures it is hard to make a definitive decision on the strain.

Thanks again!
Avery

Are some celeste fruit darker?? My friends celeste makes very dark lilac figs. Mine are this color. I assumed it was maturity of my tree. ..
