yesterday evening i visited a friend who grows hapily two fig trees that i gave him before 3 years ago. the trees has grown very well , they are big and tall! but one tree has some yellowish leaves that looks like they were burned then after that those leaves start to fall. it doesn't look to me like a fig rust. so i have taken pictures so may i can find someone to help me identifying this kind of disease. I will appreciate any info.

How old is the tree? Is the tree potted or in-ground? Are the damaged leaves from the bottom, middle or top portion of the tree?

Hi enigma, the tree is near other trees, there wasn't any thing planted in that spot. But my friend like to water his tree very often ,maybe twice a week. So I think it is something that relate to salt stress. .... I think

Kassoum, It looks like a nutrient deficiency, but it could also just be old leaves. . Good Luck.

when i see brown leaf edges, i think over fertilization. that would fit with the salt comments above.

Looks stressed, the burned edges are an indicator for salt buildup. If this is an inground tree it might be a little tough to remedy, but for a containerized plant flush the soil out by watering until clear water flows out the bottom of the pot .
