This fig was a real surprise this year. The 1st year producing figs had about 8 figs and all were very nice taste. The cutting last year came from an Italian lady who shared what I was told was a very interesting white fig. Much to my surprise the fig turned out to be black. Hope someone recognizes this fig with its 3 lobed leaves. For now I am calling it "Best Tasting Unknown" because that is exactly what it is...lolComments and suggestions welcome!

bump!anyone recognize the 3 lobed leaves?
Maybe this was described as interesting because it's one of those exceptionally rare black "white" figs
Thanks Haroon!3 lobed leaves I have on Desert King, verte, peter's honey and celeste. Interesting enough these are all very nice figs also..lpl
Hi PinoI know you've tasted your share of figs so you had me at "best tasting". Please let me know if and when these become available. Do you know if the mother tree is in-ground and/or needed heavy winter protection?Joe
Old Italian ladies of Canada lock up your figs!.Maybe you should call it Fico Bianco Negra as an 'in joke' and nod to the original description
@torontojoe - not sure at this time. Had this fig in ground during the summer and it ripened all its figs by beginning of October. will keep an eye on it. In zone 6 all figs need winter protection really a question on whether it will ripen during grow season. @Haroon - I like that name! Now if only it produces the odd green fig..lol
Thanks Pino. Fingers crossed.... Maybe it'll grow both green and black this year....We'll want a picture of that...Only 75 days until spring...
Can't wait for spring especially after the next cold wave tomorrow!Sorry don't have any cuttings this year because I amnot cutting any branches to see if it produces any brebas next season. This year only got main crop.
I hope it does well and you get a great crop
