Today I went out and picked figs, on my way back in I had a hankerin
for a pineapple up side down cake.
Well I looked up a recipe for a yellow cake, added butter and brown suger
to the bottom of my dish and added the halved figs.
Poured the cake batter on top and cooked till firm.
What a treat with a glass of milk.

Everyone must be off to the movies or something.  Can't think of any other reason why this wouldn't be commented on profusely after 7 hours of being posted.  This looks delicious, Doug!  And a really great idea!  I'll have to try this recipe idea for a time when I can manage to sneak some figs in the house without them being eaten right away.  :)

I don't eat/crave pastries, pies, or cakes, but even I think that looks delicious.
What kind of figs did you use?

I put Mead, Salem Dark, RDB, Hollier figs in it.

I have a bowl of figs I just picked,,,,,trying to figure out what
I want next. My sweetheart reminded me of our home made fig newton's we made last year.
They were great!
Now just for energy to do it.
