I'm on the roof, tending my trees, minding my business, When who do I see down
below giving me " The Eye "?

It's the bane of my fig growing existence, ' The Old Italian Lady Down The Block "
I ducked, And tried to hide behind my Stella.

After a few minutes, She shuffled away

When she was gone , with shakiness I turned back to my Figgies.

And that's when I saw IT.

A Bleeding Fig.

Now, I know you are going to say: Oh Nick, that's normal, when ripe figs extrude
a bit/drop of Honey/Nectar.   Stop being so silly...

BUT,  I have seen quite a few of my figs with drops of CLEAR Honey or Nectar and THIS WAS NO HONEY OR NECTAR.

It looked like blood, It was deep blood red, It was thick, blood red,

It even smelled " Bloodish "

Maybe it's time to call " Father " Damien again...

.

If it is consistency of colored water, then it is probably spoiling. If it is syrup/honey-like you are OK.

That woman is like FMV...

She may hide and disappear for a while,

But she's never really gone.

Thanks!

I probably have picked some a little too early since I have never had any resin on the eye or any sweet discharge.

I also have been able to so far stay away from rotten figs so as Jon possibly said this could account for a " Bloody" eye.

I was just curious if this symptomatic of something else going on and not a 'ahem' women problem.

I may get slapped for this Dominick but then have yet to see a hand come thru my monitor so

Them women sure are wired differently !

But yes i have seen many of not ripened fig pictures on the forum from various members.
Sooner or later you will get a fig at your place that has some resin -sap on its eye its only a matter of time.

I KNEW you guys were going to Poo Hoo my latest freaky Fig.

It's OK. You were not there, You didn't see HER, eye balling me from the street below, And you didn't see how different the ooze looked like from other figs I have grown that extruded a drop of honey/nectar.

Just to be on the safe side, I went back to the Homeless shelter to see " Father " Damien again.

Atlas,   he was no where to be found. Some  residents stated he may be on
a holy sabbatical in Timbuktu, some others said he was teaching the " Dark Arts "
at some prestigious University.

And some said, he just went to a different shelter for better food...

I was about to leave, thinking to myself " What am I'm going to do now?"

When luckily, a resident told me to go to the McDonald's next door and ask for the "King".

I found him enjoying a happy meal, and what a regal looking fellow he was.

Going by his professional name; " The Witch King " Eugene, was an very interesting man.

Eugene, sorry, "The Witch King " told me he was a master sorcerer and apprenticed with " Father " Damien . he also dabbled in the dark arts with his trusty feline evil fighting sidekick:  " Morpheus "
Also known as " Stinky Toes  ".

Since he was between " Adventures " he offered to help me, for a nominal fee.

He is coming by tomorrow, I will keep you posted.

I don't know if its my crappy PC but no pics Nick!

By the way I'm not poo poo'ing anything. I'm just not having your type of women problems. Mine usually take a more earthly form.

We should have a sticky for Morning chuckle from Oldghost. I would read this forum even if I hated figs.

Oldghost...you do keep it interesting, I can say that.   Maybe your bleeding tree needs a "figsterectomy"?   It can be done with no anesthesia, a same day procedure at that.  :)

Sara and Goldie,

I am glad to have amused you two.

But I just long for a simple " normal " fig growing life...

One that includes a plot of actual soil in the ground.

And, one that excludes figs that look like A Human Brain, A Person's Buttocks, A Radioactive Accident, A fig that looks like it oozes Blood, A fig that looks like a Cyclopes from a horror movie AND a fig that looks like it overloaded on Viagra.

You still haven't seen my FrankenFig.  I'm saving that bad boy for Halloween.

Is that too much to ask for?

Maybe the source of water is the problem. You never know what's going to come out of the Hudson or East Rivers!

BTW.....the WitchKing was at the wrong restaurant, he should not be at McDonald's, he is a walking character for Burger King!   Regardless, I hope your fig problems work themselves out.
