I know two local varities that are red :

Big red- still waiting for it to bud...

Yeap, I got mine from you KK. I need to repot it.

I have it in ground planted this spring 4.5' and has figs on it.

It’s my understanding it’s a local unknown collected by the Arabic community somewhere overseas.

Mine is potted into its 2nd year. Fairly vigorous, put on figs that stuck the first year but did not ripen in time. Hopefully they will this year,

Wow, what a beautiful color and good size figs.

@ KK -- did this originate from Rafed/Dan ? If yes, it was originally thought to be Lebanese Red. Later
on it was change to Israeli Red. Hope it's beauty is just as good as its taste.

I had to pick one to see the inside. The last 3 that made it this far disappeared. Surprisingly good taste for an unripe fig.

Thanks, KK. No really red though?

I thinking because it was at the bottom, completely shaded 100% of the time

We have a Red Greek that is really red like that.

Looks like it is going to be red. Notice the slight red all around the edges on this bird pecked fig

Beautiful!
Please post a photo inside when it is ready.

That's a beautiful color...now if it will only taste as good as it looks :)

I just picked the 1st ripe Red Israel, from KK, via Harvey. Pretty good for November.

Looks good Gary. That's a big cavity in the middle lol

I have a young one, with two red-eyed green figs on it that I doubt will make it before the first frosts. Probably won't taste it until next year. Beautiful pics though, gives me something to look forward to!
