I got this airlayered I-258 with 3 branches but I just noticed another branch just shot up from the side... would you guys air layer the branch in the middle growing straight up or leave it all and let it grow as is? Thanks!

That depends on what form you're personally going for on your tree. Do you want a single trunk tree form or do you want a low multitrunk bush form?
One really popular fig or two really popular figs? I hear an air layer begging to be started ;-)
