I didn't have time to listen to it closely and because of the accent it is hard for me to completely understand, but he did say that it puts on two crop, one in Spring and one in Fall. He also said that it could take the cold well. When I have time I will try to decipher more. "gene"

Hi, You know with a new strain, the most efficient way to get infos is to grow it yourself to evaluate it. For me, IC is NOT bifera BUT as most uniferas sometimes you get 3 or 4 "brebas" but most of the years the tree will behave unifera . In the video the guy says that it is a slow grower - mine is slow . He says that one could get figs even in the North of the Loire - so with no wasp ... Ho man, really a smyrna type ... Well, I'll let you know - I don't have the wasp - so perhaps another error in the video ... I'll let my tree grow and see what I'll get.

Please let us know the fruiting outcome. Seems there might be a number of varieties from central Asia/Persia that share the intricate leaf pattern but may differ in gender or type (Afghanistanica/johannis/SilverLyre/IceCrystal, etal.) Beautiful plant, though. Bass posted about a fruiting variety in an old thread: http://www.figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Afghanistanica-2636916. Were you ever able to get more info about your contact in Israel? Thanks

Here is another description I just ran acrosshttp://www.jardiplante.fr/ficus-carica-ice-crystal-ou-figuier-nain-ice-crystal-pot-4-litres-touffe Name: Ficus carica fig ice crystal or crystal ice dwarf tuft pot 4 liter
Varietal description: Recent Obtaining the ficus carica "ice crystal" is a small fig tree in compact vegetation (no more than 2.50m tall as an adult). Bifère variety, it gives quite a beautiful berries deep red, once in the spring (mild climate) and again in late summer-early fall (in all regions). Its flesh is slightly tart and deliciously scented. It is characterized by its deeply cut leaves, which makes it particularly original and decorative. Rustic, it is suitable for areas north of the Loire.
Its relatively small size makes it ideal for small spaces.
A VERY DECORATIVE FIGUIER BY ITS CUT SHEETS WONDERFULLY!
General description of the fig: The fig tree is a large shrub or a small deciduous tree fruit is also grown in gardens for its shade or ornamental purposes. Its large polymorphic leaves, often palmate (3-5 rounded lobes) are a beautiful dark green to lighter reverse. Its flowers are invisible because they are inside the fleshy receptacle which then grows around the small seeds and is a whole fruit. The fruits are edible, very sweet, of different size and color depending on the variety. Le Figuier like light and heat, prefers aerated soils, rich, fresh and permeable, although it tolerates drought and tolerates limestone. It is also resistant to the marine environment provided it is protected from the direct action of the soil. Despite its exotic appearance, the fig is hardy enough (around -15 ° or even lower). The bifères varieties (two fruiting) does bear fruit twice that favorable climate. In less clement regions, there is a harvest as possible, for unital varieties (harvest). Splendid ornamental or fruit tree yielding delicious green figs, yellow, black or purple. It only remains for you to choose the right variety that meets your desires and your region.
