And what side of the world would that be?  Where are you located aaa?

Is anyone familiar with this seller??
They have a few very desirable cuttings up

I don't know anything yet but will find out when they get here.

aaa, eee, xxx, yyy  seems to all be the same.

She seems to use other peoples pictures to sell....wasn't she the one using Bass's pictures to sell some other stuff a while back..?
Both the people selling "ice Crystals" look more like sryan than Ice Crystals..they are using a picture from this site http://www.sandylanenursery.co.uk/index5915.html

hi dirtguy50,
im located in australia

I should have bought only from sellers that I trust

Hershell, did you buy some?  I got a set and the leaves were left on one.  Looked real based on the small leaves, but we'll see when it grows up a bit.  Both those sellers, btw, seem to be the same person.

I hope they are real, don't understand when people use stolen photos and don't say that the photo isn't from their tree.

I think a lot of times eBay system suggests pics that already are in it's databank...maybe that's the reason they are being used ?
As long as the product is true to it's name... who cares.
If the price is right and you trust the vender, Buy it. what's the big deal.
Just my opinion.

Probably is a big deal to the people who took and own the original photos. What's wrong with taking your own photos, then the buyer will directly know if it's the real deal. Just my opinion.

Yes Greg. I'm in the boat. Twice, what did Jimmy Dean always say? He'll never learn

Aaron, I think that's the point.  By using someone else' photo without admission provides reason not to trust them.

I also contacted korina77-2008 about the item not being legit and they said they got it from there supplier. I told them that IC is only readily available in europe and there are no suppliers in the US. Then I told them about the forum and how only a handful of people have this fig in the us and this is what they said

New message from: korina77-2008
I already contacted my European supplier, Nursery will send me  documents regarding this plant- I misplaced my  copies , did not believe that it was important at the point . Send also a picture of yours for clarification.
Probably should not sell it till I will clarify issue.
Regarding F4F "staff"- I am have no comments- hope you all happy in your little club. Hear so many interesting stories about this "club", so no comments...
Nothing personal, thank you for keeping me posted.

but then they listed 2 more cuttings, no wonder people don't like ebay anymore

There are 2 different Korina sellers on eBay, has anyone ever purchased any fig cuttings at least a year or more ago from either of them? If so were they the real deal? Also, ask questions before bidding to see if they are freshly cut as listed.

I will have cuttings of Ice Crystal next year. Mine is from Europe that I obtained cuttings from when I was there. It is actually a very common fig tree there.

very common there but hard to find over here. Same thing with Rouge De Bordeaux and Violette Sollies

The questionable cuttings that I bought did root very quick. Korina did give me a refund. I told her that I would pay if only one rooted so I sent her a message and she said to enjoy them at no charge. I did exchange quite a few messages with her and personally had a good experience.

Hey Hershell, If I sold some "real deal" cuttings to someone, and they rooted very quickly, I do not think I would be giving a refund, something sounds suspicious, especially when she refuses to give the original source of her cuttings or show photos of the source tree. That brings up another question. Why would someone not want to give a source of their cuttings, or why would someone not want their name listed as a source. I can not understand the reasoning. I bought some cuttings recently and the original source was Rafed. Now you know that made me feel confident that I had the real deal and also I felt more respect for Rafed knowing he was allowing his name to be used as the original source and he was confident of what was being distributed is the "real deal". The only downfall is if someone was not telling the truth of the source or if a mix-up  or mislabeling occurred after leaving the original source. Please enlighten me on this subject.

I sorry but there are WAY too many flags for me to buy from Korina.

There are multiple user ids on ebay selling fig cuttings that are very similar and ship out of the same location.

She suddenly had several listings of the same variety (Black Madeira), yet states it is was a first year tree.

She has several hard to find varieties, yet claims she receives them from nurseries.

She has had multiple conversations with members calling them names.

Many of her pictures are dated jan 2014.

Hershell did the package you receive have a return address for somewhere in PA? Her broken grammar makes me wonder if she is truly in the US.

She told me that she has a farm in PA. I didn't look at the return address. I am still suspicious but can't prove anything yet. The cutting is leafing out so I will know soon. All indications so far are correct to be Ice Crystals and I have one from Gloria to match it with. I asked for a refund because they were dried and shriveled up. I never ever thought they would live but to my surprise one is doing very well. I did tell her that if one lived I would repay so, I owe her but she said it is just a stick. She did answere all of my guestions but not in detail and I do think her English must be limited but that alone would not make her a bad person.

There are 2 Korina sellers on ebay the one Hershell and I purchased from (Moscow PA) had quality problems and I received a refund. She never was a problem to convince that if the cuttings were old then you can not advertise as freshly cut and she changed her ads taking "freshly cut" out, I hope her cuttings are true varieties because I would like to see the buyers make out and deep down I would like to see her do well and build a reputation as selling the real deal, I think she really feels that she bought the correct variety that she is selling. Now the other Korina is from Brooklyn NY and this is the one that has the most negatives and calls names to buyers giving negative feedback, primarily sells mushroom spores on ebay. This is the Korina that will not post photos of the mother tree, tree being sold, or any other photos. Be careful.

I did exchange a couple of messages with Korina-2009 tonight... she said she had her pictures in european format. She said she received her tree/cuttings from ebay and said in future sales she will try to post additional pics of figs and mother trees/leaves.

Hershell, poor grammar doesnt make her a bad person, but it is the first of many items cyber security folks tell you to look for in scams...

As someone who got burnt with ebay sales in the past, I'll say my opinion is buyer beware. If you want to take a chance on some cuttings without being very upset if they turn out to be something different, then go for it. If you want to be 90% sure you get a certain variety, then look elsewhere.
