I am a little too north, so I can only plant figs in pots. If I give you 2 pots, can you pick me two figs? If one of them is a dwarf variety and the other be your top favorite fig of all time if I can prune it to fit in my garage.  Oh yea, they have to taste great and have a really good brebas crop.  Got any ideas?

For a dwarf, I believe that don't quote me on this, Maybe it is Petite negri?  As for my favorite,  Paradiso is by far my best fig.  I have a variant of Paradiso that I acquired from a relation in Italy.  In America, the identical to my paradiso is sold by Giuseppe Morle at figtrees.net in Boston, also he lables it as Paradiso.  There are a few different type of Paradiso depending on the area back in the old country.  The best!  Ciao

I would second,Atreano,and my second choice,to your northen latitude,I would grow Gino's fig.
It is one of the very few figs,that last year,wich was the coldest worst for figs here in new Jersey,yet Gino's fig,was having top flavored well riped fig.
As an example Violette de Bordeaux,Paradiso white,Bayernfeige,English Brown Turkey,LSU Gold,had all watery splitting figs.Others as Col de Dame,did not ripe at all.
In 2007,the above figs were all excellent tasting,so it was the cold rainy Sommer that spoiled the quality of these figs.
That is Why,from my little tree,I sent a couple of cuttings to my doughter in Law.parents,back in Romania Europe.
Well I did not notice that you specifically asked for figs with breba crop.
Gino's fig does not have a breba crop,only a main early crop.
For breba fig tree nothing beats Desert King.

Sorry it is off topic but why some threads (like this one) start with un-wrapped text so to read each long text line one has to move the scroll bar back and forth to read the whole text.
I guess it depends on the thread start and then the follow up post show the same format. Is there anyway for individual readers to take care of it (proper wrapping) for easy read purpose?

Let us not worry about the un-wrapped text. as I complained about above but there is a rare opportunity for a 3rd pot for this thread at reasonable prices. The Gino fig , as described above, may deserve this pot. It is a TERRACOTTA POT imported from Tuscany, Italy. Authentic, Signed piece, made by hand; originally paid $1500 and now asking only $297 (& not $299 as you might have expected). There are probably good reasons to buy a pot at $1500 but I don't recall now.

Marseillies VS  and Hollier. That is one dark & one green. Both have done well for me in pot culture in zone 6/7 - reliable, productive & good tasting. Fig size is medium.

Desert King for breba, for dwarf negronne or violet de bourdeau.  For third pot latarulla.

Good question but the answer needs to come from someone nearby who grows Figs in your microclimate.  You might try reading Ira Condit's "Fig Varieties: A Monograph" which is downloadable as a PDF from my website:

Here in Seattle, we only get Brebas to ripen in normal years but few if any Main crop Figs due to lack of heat.  "Desert King" is the Breba workhorse for quantity, but you might prefer other varieties for flavor and sacrifice quantity to get flavor.

Sorry Martin I'm a little slow. Yes, I'm in St. Louis, MO.  After a cool summer, I was able to harvest the one breba and 5 of the 10 main crop figs.
