Hi,

is it possible to increase the growth of a plant by adding some root hormone? i know, it sounds a bit weird, but i am still interested.

What happens if i put some root hormone powder on established roots? Will the grow better/faster?

I have a very small fig tree from a cutting last years, and it seems like it does not want to grow...

That won't be my approach. In fact it could damage the plant. Sometimes it's very difficult to make a fig grow. Like one heavily infested with FMV. But assuming you have a good mix for a potted tree; water, fertilizer, heat, and sunlight are the magic ingredients. Mine have grown well if I get those correct.
