Can anyone point me in the direction of any fig vendors in Italy, please?

Well, from my friends, in school as a child, according to their grandparents...just about anyone you'd run into on the street would be able to sell you a cutting or know someone who would. 

That's probably just a bit exaggerated, especially as I was about 8 yrs old at the time, but it's probably easier find reputable dealers in named varieties if that is what you are looking for, if you are more specific.

It's companies or people that I'm looking for not anybody who has a fig tree.

Is there something specific you're looking for? A particular region?

Paolo Belloni from Pomona Gardens in Puglia is a collector with more the 600 varieties and a gentleman.
He has some of the best and rarest varieties available including LUV. You could actually visit and stay at the Gardens, He has rooms available at a fair price and visit the area wile there ,in my opinion Puglia is one of the most beautiful rigion of Italy and the food is unbelievable

The most well known Italian vendor is Belfiore in Florence. Punto verde in Lecce is also good. Paolo Belloni does not sell trees, he may sell some cuttings but that is not his business, he is a conservationist. He does not generally sell plants and is not a nursery. He definitely does not ship anything outside of Italy, nor do the others I mentioned.
