JFE for sale

I just saw that JFE is listed as for sale on Craigslist? It looks partially legit. Anyone have any thoughts or can confirm the owner is looking to get out?

Looks legit to me, a business for sale. I'd imagine if the same people have been running it for 38 yrs they want to retire a lot of work managing 8 acres of plants and a mail order business.

I hope whomever buys it loves figs as much as the current owner, that place is awesome

Wow, @700k with the land and all the inventory...that is steal.

They should be grossing 4 times that with proper marketing. Someone should buy this and run it like a modern internet operation. Grow an online garden / specialty supply and customer following along with the companies core model of the past. Combine that with 38 years of a solid business name / reputation and you could easily generate respectable numbers.

This is a steal. What a great opportunity.

Honestly I think the land and inventory is not the biggest chunk of price. The brand and customer base and worth the majority. I recommend this place even though I haven't shopped there, just on good reviews on here. Perhaps we should all pitch in buy it together. I got a 20 to start.

Yea the cash is the issue...Well for me lol

lol what do you mean Brianm I just bought a bunch of plants from you

Thanks, I wish I had that type of money. It could be a gold mine if ran right.

They have been for sale since last year. There was another posting months ago regarding the add. The brand name and long time customers are what's worth the buying the business. But, I would be interested knowing, why they are selling the nursery? Has the profit decreased in recent years or what? Some questions that I would ask if I was going to decide to purchase the business.

Navid.

I would assume the business owner is retiring and selling the business to provide for a good retirement. Assuming mild savings, 700k should be enough for a comfortable retirement.
