Jolly tiger fig mystery

I'm selling some on EBay now. I've got a total of 4 bundles of 3. They are authentic. It's hard to mistake the leaf. I would be interested in a trade if that works for you.

There are several green leaf Jolly Tigers on eBay selling for as much as variegated, don't people read? I purchased non-variegated a couple years ago for $2 each. Good luck Aaron, Marius had 5 sets that sold immediately.

Be very weary..

Aw come on Aaron, just an extra "e", slip of the finger.

wary definition, meaning, what is wary: not completely trusting or certain about something or someone:

brianm is correct- just had a trigger finger

I stand corrected. Lol

Lol

I think buying cuttings of JT is fine as long as you know it's from a trustworthy seller.  At least one scammer is back at it again.

Today I picked my first fruit from the JT I bought from Jim.  That tree is about 7' tall now and in a 24" box planter.  Fruit was moderately sweet and flavor was unique, but nothing I really was excited about.  Foliage is definitely the main attraction of this variety.

Harvey C, do you have some cutting for sale. Aldemanto sell it on ebay but he cannot sent it aboard. Really interested with this variety but it hard to find authentic one.

Brian:  When you "pinch" the tree...do you pinch the top growth to make it get branches on the bottom?

Yes but didn't work. Sent shoot straight up

Didn't work?  I wonder why.  I have a few small trees (6-7 inches) that I want to make into bushes when they get growing but haven't read enough about this yet "pinching" method.

Not at this time, will probably wait until January when trees go dormant.

Thanks. Will have to wait then...

Harvey, it's a beautiful looking fig.  I guess the foliage is the main attraction when it comes to flavor, right?  What would you compare this fig's flavor to?

PS:  I did notice on ebay that F4F group members do mention this on the description.  Thank you all for this!  Being new at fig tree growing and, new here on the group, it helps to read this on the description.  I also really appreciate seeing the watermark on the photos!  Great job!

The pulp had a mild sweet flavor but I thought the skin seemed a little bitter.  Some people peel their figs before eating so that's not much of an issue for them.

I don't believe very many people have had fruit yet from their trees, I only recall two others off hand at the moment.

I have an attraction to variegated plants so I still think it's worth growing.

Yes, I agree with you on how cool variegated plants are, Harvey...beautiful to see that and especially on a fig tree, right?!  When I buy figs, I ALWAYS eat them whole (some day I will pick them from my trees).  I've never peeled a fig mainly because I just love FIGS.  Alison here on F4F also mentioned that the Monstrueuse fig skin is NOT EDIBLE--right? (Thank you for the cuttings, Alison!).

Its said that Jolly Tiger figs was first time coming from Japan.

But I never seen , its sold by Japanese nurseries or by  figs collector there , except in Ebay.

Anyone know or could tell the Jolly Tiger figs coming from.

Salam.

Zaitun.
