Congratulations Leon. Do you have a photo of the leaves. It looks awefully close to my Verte. Unfortunately I ate my Verte figs so fast and forgot to take photos.

You're welcome, Leon. Those look like main crop, the brebas are more raspberry colored. Mine are just beginning to swell, I can't wait. A top 5 fig in my climate. So happy you like it too!

Sas, I will post pics of the leaves.

Gary, this was the very first fig to ripen for me so I don't know if it was the breba or main crop. Also being that it is from an immature tree, I don't think that it represents the true size of this variety. Your photos show a much larger fig.

I am very excited about this fig. The taste is rich with berry tones that linger on the palate. Very, very good! You are right. It is a top 5 fig. (Hey a new rating measure for those with large collections . A top 5 versus a top 10 or top 15!)

Gary, please share pics of your figs as they ripen.

Sure is pretty, well done.

Looks fantastic Mr. Edmond! Great recommendation Gary! Certainly a winner for sure! Thanks for posting with photos :)

Leon,  this is a very nice fig
Congratulations

@Gary
Cannot remember seeing your 'main crops' before.... brebas yes !

Here you are, Francisco and Leon. Last years photo, as this year's crop is just beginning to swell.

Thank you Gary.
It's in fact a nice fig this LPsh main crop.
LPrt  equivalents are now through  their 3/4 yield with smaller fruits but very sweet and flavored pushed by the ongoing hot & dry summer days. One week more and they are gone.

Francisco

Oh wonderful Leon to see how Gary's great fig is doing for you in ABQ.  How is the Lamperia Parda AL doing for you?  It will be so interesting to be able to compare the two.  Happy figging all, Jodi

Jodi, the Lampeira Parda has figlets on it and it is a strong little tree but none will grow big enough to ripen this year. The leaves are somewhat similar to those on Gary's Lampeira Prusch. I will compare pics.

Thank you Gary for the photos. Your figs are really ripe! I had to pick mine early due to a raccoon issue.

Thanks for posting....I am excited to learn that this variety makes maincrop figs without the wasp, looking forward to fruit from one which a friend passed along to me this summer. I hope your racoon issues are resolved- havaheart trap?

Cool.  I am traveling to San Diego on the 9th and hope to get some more cuttings of the papa tree.  9 of the AL's survived to become trees and Daisy is so busy making ALs of her robust IBT and selling them at the farmer's markets thanks to you Leon.  Best, Jodi

The Lampeira Parda (Jodi) expresses three and single lobed leaves. The Lampeira Prusch (Gary) has mostly five lobed leaves. Time will tell whether these two varieties are the same. My Lampeira Parda is a very young air layer. My Lampeira Prusch is more mature at this stage. The photo below is of the Lampeira Parda (Jodi) that was originally posted when Jodi was seeking an ID for this fig. In the photo, the leaf, assuming it represents the majority of the leaves on the Point Loma tree, appears to have three lobes. I am very appreciative for both Jodi and Gary sharing their Lampeira figs with me. I am anxiously waiting to compare these figs next season. So far, the first fig from Gary's tree is much to be desired!

Hello Leon_edmond
It about Lamperia Fig.
I would like buy some cutting from you. Let me know if you have some available for sale. Thanks
Linda

Main crop is swelling, Leon. Much larger than I recall last year. Maybe it's due to some wasps that Blue kindly provided.

Really happy I was sent this variety this spring after reading Gary's high praise. It's growing well and I've actually been able to air layer a branch from the base while still having a main central whip at easily 5 ft...

Gary, thank you for sharing. Beautiful fig!

Thank you for sharing Gary
It'a a very nice fig indeed
