P.S. Insects cause a lot of problems with fig souring in Arizona. People here often cover figs with organza bags sold at party stores to be filled with candy as party favors to keep the bugs out. It isn't practical to cover every single fig if you grow a lot of them, but it might be worthwhile to protect your Black Madeira figs.
