I've got a bunch of indoor plants under fluorescent lights. I need to leave them alone for up to a week. Could leaving the lights on 24/7 be a problem for the figs. Mike

I had all my trees under lights 24/7 all winter. Standard 48" shop light dual tube 40w, 24" above treees. They flourished with great leaves.

Danny K, Thanks for the input. I usually turn the lights on when I get up in the morning and off at bedtime. Mike

Some plants need the light/dark - day/night cycle, but for my observations, Ficus carica is not one of them.

But the longer you leave the lights on the more water they need. I have mine on a fluorescent-safe timer and use 12 on, 12 off so they don't dry out as fast.
