Hmmmm.  A fig tree branch...in a car.  Did we do a little reverse guerrilla gardening?  ;-)

If that's the case, I can understand why.  Very interesting leaves.

The only fig I know with big red lips like that is chico strawberry (Saratoga).

It's a Vulcan fig.

Yes, RICHIE, WE DO NEED ANOTHER UNKNOWN...lol.

Very interesting leaves!

Hi,
My 3 cents on Desert King. As it looks, we'll know in a year or more :)

Very interesting leaf. I can't think of another pointed leaf. May it live long and prosper.

I will se d you some Adelmanto. Its a c yellow fig when its ripe. Had one sort of ripe fig from it it was a bright yellow fig. Pulp wasnt really ripe yet.

Pretty fig, whatever it is. My guess is Strawberry Verte.

Thanks! What would we do without unknowns?

I think there should be a thread on the best unknown fig you have

Richie, is it possible some seeds from the past fig breeding there got out by birds or whatever and made a new variety?  Does it look like the tree was planted or is it just kinda out in nowhere?

Very interesting leaves, make sure to post a picture of the fruit when you have it.  I second the idea of having an unknown fig thread! There's something to be said for unknowns, especially heirlooms.....got to protect that genetic diversity ;)

Yes its kind of random. Its on the side of the road right next to the bayou. Between the edge of the road and the bayou is only about 12 foot. No houses on this side just a little bit of land and the waters edge.

Giving out cuttings till what is in my fridge is gone. Have enough for about 4 people. Someone grew this tree. Strange there no room for a house. They might of had a house on the bayou that got smashed by Katrina. Sits on a very small piece of land against the bayou's edge.

I want cuttings of that tree please.....

No problem. Send me your address in message.

Or... Congratulations to the lucky folks that were on time.

Send address. I think this is it for now guys. Thanks for your interest.

Am I too late ?

No you are not too late. Will be able to give to two more people.

Should be ripe soon Richie, looking forward to your report.
