Your friend recommended you to the right place.  This is an amazing group of people who are very generous.   You will learn a lot over time and not just about figs.  There is a wealth of knowledge and experience here.  

Thank you for introducing yourself.  It puts your request into prospective.  Your initial post as a new member asking for free cuttings got my attention.

As for cuttings, others have  suggested a few places including eBay and of course later in the fall members will be offering up cuttings when their trees go dormant.

Gardening is very therapeutic and will help you regain a sense of balance.
Being outside instantly reduces my stress levels. 

You will be successful growing figs, now that you have found this forum.   

As you haven’t spent time exploring the forum before jumping right in, so to speak, I would suggest a couple of things.

After you log in, you will see a Search option in the upper right corner above Welcome, Courtney.

I found this extremely helpful as a newbie trying to figure out how to propagate fig cuttings.  Search some specific topic e.g. “which way up” or “cold tolerant figs” or “PNW figs” you get the idea. I recently searched hand dolly as I wanted to know what others are using to move their potted plants around.

If you can’t find what you are looking for, by all mean start a new thread and ask.  We enjoying learning what others are doing or how they are doing it.

Also, look at the Subject list.  Pinned to the top are some locked threads which provide good information.  This will give you a place to start.  Read the thread “Start Here:  The Basics, FAS, Recommendations, Links”
