I've often wondered the same thing!?! I'd like a more appropriate name for my prolific GI.
For my amusement, when I peel the green skin off (Oct. - Nov) the interior is very deep red with crunchy seeds.
It looks and tastes like a strawberry!?! Fooled a few people
The GI is also called a Verte...can I start calling it a Strawberry Verte (hehehe).
