Here are pictures of my LSU Scott's Yellow tree and ripe fruit. I've used Gino's and Dark Portuguese figs for size comparison. Those of you who grow Scott's Black should recognize its relation to it and their Celeste mother.
This is one great tasting fig folks.......the brebas are excellent too!! This tree comes from a private source and not from James Robin. I have no idea if JR's LSU Yellow (AKA Brandy) fig is the same as this cultivar. FYI, there are quiet a few "yellow" fig selectiions from the LSU breeding program in existence. IMO, this particular one may not have been officially released because of the sugar spots. Its sibling figs, LSU Gold, is much "prettier" in comarison........some folks like PRETTY for marketing purposes. I like flavor and productivity.....and this fig has both.
My tree just went through an extended severe drought and is now in its second flush. There should be a nice second crop to follow. A normal rainy weather pattern will make this tree look nice again. IMO, this cultivar MIGHT make an excellent breba producing fig tree in cold climates.
