LSU Strawberry fig?

Anyone know anything about an LSU Strawberry fig?

Saw it on Ebay.......

Fig tree cuttings LSU Strawberry- 5 cuttings

I know the seller is reliable. Have you asked him a question about it?

77peony? Run away from that sale. Don't look back.

No, I have not contacted the seller. I am of the opinion he knows nothing about it either with no pictures of a tree or fruit, nor info on the plant. I was hoping to find info on it from another source......I have found nothing on the internet and I would think some of the best sources for LSU fig info are on this forum.  If no members have heard of it then I will assume it is just a new name for a known variety, or is it a Fig from LSU but never released like many sold from Louisiana, if so I would think it would be refered to on the internet somewhere.

Don't buy any LSU Strawberry from anyone EXCEPT from eBay: blue 18027  forum: CAJUNB   good seller and member

You did the right thing by asking first. The fig scammers make their living off non-members or members who do not check the forum for scammers.

She's already sold a bunch. Poor newbies..

At least they can be returned as "not as described", as the type does not exist.

And how did you find her reputable?

Any coincidence between Korina-2007, Katerina, and Ebay username 77Peony who's Paypal name is Korina? Brag about deceiving the USDA even. The Bronx, Pennsylvania, Russia, etc., as they are listed. The other dozen Usernames all with crappy feedback

If anyone has a problem, or "happens" to receive a call from the USDA, they should refer to the threads under Polfigist here. They won't take kindly to her deception and access properties through a warrant. It would be much more than "prepping for a visit from the USDA"

There is a field in that i was cleared to go to that primary grows sugar can that has a old fig field. This is where i believe st Gabriel is at. So many hidden fig paradise in south Louisiana.

If it wasn't blue don't buy it from them. I thought that is who you were talking about. But he has now given the skinny on it. He has some for sale earlier.

Stand corrected on the fig.

Still rotten people and long term scammers

Be careful, dausername1 has White Madeira listed on eBay, this is a new found variety just released so I doubt this seller has one. Search this site for scammers before you buy or bid. When their old scam varieties do not sell anymore then they list some of the newer or newly discovered high priced varieties.

Definite scammer, I dealt with him last year.

He refunds quickly to keep the positive feedback. As opposed to 77Peony, Korina, Katerina, Radyslava, and the rest. The first clue is how bitter these people are because you ask a question. They get offended that you won't let them screw you with Ebay and PayPal's permission.

Dausename1, Da User Name 1, get it?

Well to let this thread not be misunderstood. ...
LSU STRAWBERRY IS VERY MUCH A REAL variety

Thanks to all who responded....I learn alot from the members as usual. I learned that indeed a LSU Strawberry does exsist but as I thought if it did the Ebay seller would know and say more about it.  I will now grovel at CAJUNB's feet until a cutting becomes available. I would offer my first born but who can afford a 30 something princess? For the other growing nuts I now have 57 fig trees in my living room in 6 inch pots down to Dixie cup size with more cuttings on the way! Fig on!

Lol

With Brian's LSU Strawberry cuttings selling for over $150 it is easy to see why the scammers have latched onto this variety as their next scam.

I had seen the action earlier. But did not know the story of the fig, nor did I see the final selling price (which surprised me, but shouldn't have).

You already have it: Green Ischia. :)

. Agreed! With lots of little lights

Is LSU Strawberry really Green Ishia or just funnin'

I have one in the ground from Hirt's and am sending out a couple cuttings out to a forum member tomorrow.

 Thanks, Mike

Well Mike, did you buy a LSU Strawberry or Green Ischia from Hirts? I would send it to the forum member as I BOUGHT it from Hirts. That's pretty honest and straight forward. Doesn't matter if funnin' or not. It's the right thing to do.

Oh no,

You got the intent wrong. The forum member is a friend and knows they are Green Ishia I am sending

I found a couple cuttings I missed and if it is the same I can send a couple to JMRTSUS if he is interested.

Many of the figs have synonyms and variations. I was interested in which it is, or not at all

If it is a Green Ischia I have one! If not it will have to wait until Christmas is paid for before I can get one. I was interested in a another green fig for SE TN and being a displaced Cajun and LSU football nut the thought of an LSU variey was interesting. I did not know the rarity of the fig. I may actually have 4, I picked up some figs labeled "Ischia" from Wally world last summer, rumor was they were White Marsilles but time will tell. Mike, thanks for the offer but I have at least 1 GI I am sure. Fig on and Geaux Tigers!

JMRTSUS GEAUX TIGERS! LSU '88

Yeah, I'm into any figs LSU. How can I not be?

JMRTSUS,

I have a white Marseilles that came from Hirt's also. This and the GI are my largest in-ground plants.

If you need to compare leaves, when they come out, let me know.

The fingers of the leaves are thinner on the White Marseilles and there are more of them.

Have you thought of Battataglia Green, Lyndhurst White or JH Adriatic for another fig.

The first two I have dormant and the last rooting.

I have the Hollier also.

It was a very tasty fig and got 5 from a first year plant.

It is dormant now.
