Maltese Beauty.   3 and half months of window sill growing seperates the first two photos.

Third photo shows the thickness of the stem.

Can't wait to taste this one.

Great to hear, Dan.  Looking forward to hearing how mine tastes compared to your other varieties.  I've no clue, since I haven't had but a couple flavors myself.

All the old leaves on mine have curled now, I think because they were formed under low light and higher humidity they weren't accustomed to the hot dry weather had which is when it started as the new leaves are fine.

Mine has been really productive even though it started as a cutting in November, I have had to knock off more than 20 figs and that's with 10 on it already and I see more coming, is this normal for this variety to be so productive in your experience?

Pete,

I'm drawing up a plan on how to keep the gnats away 100%.
I'll post my plan as soon as I have it all together. I will need opinions.

Beauty of a figlet Dan, very nice!

Funny, I was just thinking about Monty Python's mosquito hunt.  Think it involved a bazooka and a machine.

My wife sent me these photos. It did this almost overnight. They swelled and turned dark. I won't be back to the plant until Friday. With the heat we're now having, it should be closer. The next photo will be a harvested fig shot. 10 months from a 4" twig to this. I can't believe it.

OK here goes.  I picked both figs.  The bottom fig that was touching the bark had ants inside.   I cut around it and I ate it anyway, but in that haste forgot to take photos.  I was too excited.  It wasn't pretty anyway.  The attached photo is of the second fig that may have needed 1 more day, but was still very good.    The figs were very sugary sweet and Jammy.  No fruity overtones, but this fig is a very young tree.  The skin was thin and the seeds gave it just enough crunch.  I remember tasting the first figs on my Celeste and wanting to spit it out.    This variety for me is the most vigorous grower this year.

Thanks for looking.  Enjoy.

Looks good, ants add an extra crunch too, if they are in my fig then they are subject to being eaten.

All Chopped up.jpg  I chopped this baby up and shared as much as I could this last season.  Looking forward to seeing it fruit again for me.  I stood it up straight and replanted it in this 26" pot.  Automatic dripper with 200 PPM N.   Look for photos again in August.

Thanks

I can tell you worked on the structure, she looks great!  BTW I see at least 3 possible airlayers next spring :)

Can you post a couple of leaf pictures, if you have them?  I think mine, which grew well, may not be the real deal.  I won't know until a fig ripens, I left 2 on.  Come on warm November...
