Hey everyone Starting to get some mold on my leaf tips in my humidity bin. I have already started leaving the lid open and removing amy condensation i see in the bin itself. What else can i do to avoid mold as i dont want to loose these cuttings i just bought. __________________ Fig noob London, On

You need to kill any mold you see with peroxide, Physan-20 or similar or dilute bleach. Spray down the chamber and cuttings. Don't get a lot of bleach in the soil, it has too much sodium. Change the chamber so it's less humid. You have to transition the leaves slowly or they'll dry out. Looking at the leaves my guess is that the roots began to form, then died. The soil in the bags looks very wet. If you squeeze that soil as hard as you can you shouldn't be able to squeeze any water out. For the perlite, did you get rid of all the fine dust before using it? What do people use for a chamber besides these big tupperware totes? I no longer have the cuttings in the bags as those ones rotted and died a few weeks ago as the soil was way too wet. I have two cuttings in red solos like the picture above, both had about a dozen inch long roots before I transferred them to the cups. The soil in the cups is barely moist not soaked as well. Do I just use some paper towels with some peroxide on them and wipe down everything to keep the mold at bay? __________________ Fig noob London, On

So i washed down my tote with straight bleach rinsed then rinsed and wiped it out with diluted bleach and water mix. The cuttings with leaves i wiped down with a very diluted paper towel with bleach and water on it. See what happens next i guess __________________ Fig noob London, On

I'm by no means an expert like more veteran members here, but I thought I'd put my 2 cents in. I don't bother with a humidity chamber anymore. I either 1. fully bury my cutting in the substrate or 2. parafilm the top inch or two of tip cuttings. In your instance, I would just snip off and discard that leaf if it is mold. You could try a fungicide regimen to combat the mold going forward. I use a homemade chamomile tea spray as a preventative. Neem oil can be harsh on young cuttings. Your cutting looks mostly fine to me. Mold only grows well on dead matter. As long as your plant is healthy, it shouldn't do much damage at all.
