Mother Nature woes

Here in New England, Mother Nature has really thrown a monkey wrench into my efforts to get my figs on some sort of watering and fertilization schedule. I believe I only had to water manually twice. Once with an all purpose miracle grow fertilizer and once with epson salt. How much good either did is anyone's guess. My larger potted trees, 15 gal and 20 gal SIPs, are holding up to the rain fairly well. My smaller potted trees just seem to be stagnant at this time. Only one of my trees , Dominick, is showing any signs of rust, so that is encouraging. Hopefully this week we turn the corner and start growing.

This weather is driving me crazy.... wet spring and they are saying June will be cooler than normal.... doesn't bode well for sun and heat loving figgies... Difficult to work around such weather inconsistencies...

A little more rain and the chlorine in the pool should be low enough to put in some trout.

I like the way you think, Mike!

I'm I NJ, and I gotta tell you this weather is driving me insane, every 10 day forecast is 8 days of rain 2 days of overcast with a little sun scattered in there, I've had my trees smaller ones and prized ones in my front sun room most of the season, it's always raining, I can't remember a season this freaking $hitty in my life, cold, wet, cold, wet cold, wet, cold, wet, overcast, cold, wet, 90 deg, cold, wet!
I just wanna scream! It's so frustrating!

At least we can vent to each other.

Here's a first.

The sixth of June and my furnace just turned on. Aaackk!!!

not a first for me I am sorry to say.... That is precisely why I never plant perishable plants in ground until after June 10th.... have had frosts up to and including the morning of June 10th but never beyond the 10th in 30 years of paying attention to it....

Here on Long Island and facing same dreary wet weather and worried how it will impact the figs. If the wet weather continues much longer thinking only figs I may get to taste will be the variety called "Newton". Ugh

It is tiring...not only am I killing most cuttings but the few that showed signs of life became stagnant on the deck...the weather is horrible

We have never had a stretch of weather so squirrely that the weathermen get things even more wrong than usual!  It's June and the night temps are going into the 60s.
