Today i visited a group of abandoned fig trees, to take cuttings and pictures (and to eat figs, of course).
That trees aren't in a good shape, with damaged bark, lots of dead branches, but they still make delicious fruits; there are half a dozen trees in that plot, of three varieties (black, brown and white).

Murra is the sweetest fig i have ever eaten. It's like eat a spoon of honey, so sweet you feel the sweet in the throat for a long time after eating some of these.

Niedda: blue like a night sky

The yellow unknown:

I'm glad to have these varities. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Thanks Vinny,
i'm happy that these varieties are now growing outside Sardinia, they deserve to be grown everywhere.

Claudio, Congratulations!
These are Nature figs in their best. Priceless figs and priceless pictures...
I wonder what those flavors are (!)
Viva Murra.. Viva Niedda .

Thanks Francisco,

for the flavors i can't describe them, for me Niedda has the typical fig flavor.

Murra is even better, when i talk about honey i mean mediterranean scrub honey, with strong taste and scent.

Nice pics...those trees look parched....amazing how the live untill winter rains in the Med.

I have a Murra and a Niedda, too. very much looking forward to tasting fruit from them.
