16 brix. tested with glucose meter.

beautiful tree with delicious fruits. I love it:-)

Nice looking fig!  Could you describe the flavor? 

This is hard for guys sometimes, no offense, but was it rich, figgy, nutty, fruity, shades of cantaloupe or berry?  That's asking a lot I know.  It isn't a trick question like the dreaded "Does this dress make me look fat?" question.  I just like to know what the flavor is :-))

Hello Brahms,

Glad to hear that Florea does well for you in South Korea.
We get different reports here on it's quality. The original finder of this fig does not think it taste as good in america as it did in his home land.

But, he has a more refine taste for figs then most of us. Yet others in the north are reporting it to be a good tasting fig.

So, your evaluation is greatly appreciated.

You mentioned that the fruit test out with a brix of 16, using a glucose mete. Here we use a glucose meter to measure the glucose in a persons blood.

Do you mean you used a refractometer for the brix test?

I was asking because it would indeed be nice if a glucose meter that diabetics use, could be used to also test the brix level of fruits.

Has any one else been able to use a glusose meter to measure the brix level in fruit?

Not likely since fruit sugar is fructose, not glucose.  The diabetes test strips have an enzyme that's specific for glucose and wont measure fructose.

and about its taste.. I have very limited reference;; 
I think its taste like dauphine fig(common variety in S.Korea) except its small size. dauphine fig is geese egg size:-( ;;
