Got back Sunday from 3 days away and have now harvested all the figs from my lone Hardy Chicago tree that will ripen. My total for this season was 167 ripe figs. My tree is a potted tree that I bury and it is 3 years old. It has 3 main trunks and is only 4 ft high.

This is my first year being on a forum like this where many are far far more experienced then I.  My question if anyone can help is are my results "normal"?  Just asking because I am trying to understand what I can expect in the future and just how big I should let my collection get. 

Weigh in with whatever you have to offer and thx all for helping to make this a very enjoyable season where I am learning something new pretty much every time I check in here.

167 figs from a 3 yr tree seems pretty good to me. And if you got to enjoy most the critters have been very kind.

Both my in ground trees were done by end of Aug. Between souring, insect attacks and feeding all things larger than a grape I maybe get 1 out of 4 at the ripeness I like them.

I did score some perfectly ripe Mission figs at a farmers market recently, very rare to find correctly ripened figs for sale.

Sounds typical,  good haul no doubt.

It sounds very good, I have 2 Hardy Chicago that I plant spring time in ground, so I assume that it is 2 years old tree, one tree do ripen 20 figs, Another one ripen less than 10, For strange reason, Hardy Chicago do not grow well here at cooler Summer, I do have squirrels around, Luckily they do not like my figs because there are many walnut trees around here, At October, There are some hungry rats, They will climb up my fig trees and eat whatever figs left over.

I do have few black mission figs ripen, They are very tasty.

You must have treated this tree really good. 
As Donald Trump would say;  167 figs from a 3 yr old potted fig tree is "huge"
IMO to maintain or increase that level of production you will need to plant the tree in ground.

You did good by my experience! And just ine tree? Wow! Good job!

I have been considering butmrrying my trees but land is limited.

Would you post oics of your tree?
