This is my first Malta Black and it was very delicious. Thin skin and the taste was sort of a berry flavor. Very nice Fig.
Nice, as we are all aware flavor generally improve with age...I have been pinching mine as they are under age. Got my cuttings from Vasily, six out of seven cutting rooted well....have 3 inground.
Very nice...I will be enjoying a Malta Black shortly. It will be my very first ever so I was wondering how dark it will get. I see its more purple then black.
Good lookin fig!
This is one tough tree. I irrigated it once this summer. But here it is on July 10th after two winters in the wild without any support or irrigation.
Love the colors on that fig. Reminds me of Blue Celeste. What size is Malta Black fig?
Beauty 😍. I'm getting this variety in fall. Can't wait. Congratulations
Frankallen,This is a beautiful fig. If your tree is giving you ripe figs now in Sept. in 'Bama, what is the likelihood of the figs on my potted tree ripening!!!Marcel
One Malta Black that I did not get to pinch...it smelled like a yellow peach fruity sub-acid...I did not taste it, and threw it out as it is too young to be eaten...next year we will be allowed to partake... Love the "closed" eye.

Great looking fig Frank, I don't think I'll get to try one this year, next year for sure. Enjoy the fruits of your labor my friend. Vito
Congrats Frank! Malta Black is a great fig, it's in my top 10 and will be a candidate for in-ground if my test RdB comes through a second winter strong. Great taste and it doesn't need any special treatment to ripen the full crop.
