Very impressive greenhouse! Congratulations! How many fig trees do you have?

It's good you have the space for such a nice greenhouse.  Which variety produced that nice, big fig?

Any heat? Looks great.

Thanks! Actually i own about 1000 fig trees including cuttings from last winter...the greenhouse is small but that's the only room i had ! I plan to built bigger greenhouses on my father's farm soon...i don't know the variety of the big fig on the pic cause i bought mature fig trees this spring from old men and they didn't know name varieties! Yes i will heat the greenhouse but i don't know yet what to use as heater. Any suggestion? Thanks

That's a good sized GH. The small electric heaters probably won't be sufficient. But they have all sizes using all types of heat sources.

You need to figure out your cheapest energy source. That's usually natural gas but could be electricity, geo thermal, propane, etc. Then find a heat loss calculator or heating cost calculator such as this: http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/greenhouse_btu_calculator

My greenhouse heater in a much milder climate and 1700 sq ft is similar to this: http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/product/modine-pdp150a-unit-heater/greenhouse-heating

Looks like a great start

Very jealous!

Great job on the greenhouse!
Polycarbonate is so nice but pricy! Did you find a cheap source for the polycarbonate?

Pino yes it is! I unfortunatly did not find a cheap price for the polycarbonate!

Thanks Pino!

Thanks fignutty and sas for the infos

That's a good looking greenhouse nice job. I need to build one also, Is the steel tubing a kit or did you fab it?
Thanks Mike

Yes the tubes came from an old 100' long greenhouse ! Thanks
