Hello everybody,
I live in coastal North Carolina ,few minutes drive I can be in the historic city of New Bern.
I enjoy growing fig trees, when you have taken care of the tree. The weather has been just right, the tree will Reward you with some mighty tasty figs to eat.

I have two in ground fig trees and seven individual trees in quart containers.

I still have to master the art of rooting cuttings.I have five cuttings in 50/50 perlite and potting soil.
I am going to try sphagnum moss on the next cuttings I root. When the cuttings root, transfer them
To cups with coarse perlite as the growing medium.

Thank you for listening,

Jimmy

Welcome Jim.
I tried rooting with moss with no success,
Now I use 70% pearlite 30% promix with better success.

Welcome to the forum, Jimmy.

Lots of ways to root them, all seem to work for someone.

Welcome, I hope to see New Bern soon since it seems like a nice town. I have tried coco coir with better results for me than perlite so far.

Wow I was ther when I was a kid. We used to camp on Cape Hatteras

Back then you could fill up a 5 gallon bucket with big blue crabs in a couple hours walking knee deep on the sound side.

I have been up and down most of the outer banks and much of the southern beaches as well but I need to go to Ocracoke. Have you been to Bald Head Island? That is a nice little spot only accessible by ferry too.
