Nero 600m with all single lobe, spade shaped leaves?

I have two Nero 600m trees started from cuttings. Pictures online have leaves with long lobes. One of mine is growing all single lobes the other has long lobes like the others Iv seen. Is this still a Nero 600m or mislabeled? I have a VDB that has leaves with long lobes at the base but a new growth shoot 18" long with all single lobe leaves. I know some people say Nero 600m and VDB are very similar if not the same variety.

They are not mislabeled.  My Nero 600M cuttings are doing the same thing.  I actually have a couple that have both types of leaves on the same plant.

ditto.  both leaves, same plant.

I have an second year VdB (TC) that has the same kind of leaves. It has put on figs this year, and so far the look like VdB. So, I wouldn't worry about a mislabeled tree yet.

Those are the juvenile leaves. The mature leaves will show up later maybe even this yr.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance

I have a Nero 600 m that only has single lobed leaves. It is the same. I have never gotten a long fingered leave on it. The tree is five years old. So it is not the juvenile leaves. Also for some reason it ripens figs two weeks earlier than my other 600 m, my vdb and my negrone.

What type leaves does your other 600M have?

It has to do with sun leaves and shade leaves. The trees don't always get it right and make shade leaves in the sun and vice versa. The leaves are still the same shape, jut not lobed.

"Sun leaves and shade leaves" - is this a thing?  I know I'm new to growing figs, but I haven't heard of this before.

Phenotypic plasticity in plants includes the allocation of more resources to the roots in soils that contain low concentrations of nutrients and the alteration of leaf shape, size, and thickness.[5] Leaves are particularly plastic, and their growth may be altered by light levels. Leaves grown in the light tend to be thicker, which maximizes photosynthesis in direct light; and have a smaller area, which cools the leaf more rapidly (due to a thinner boundary layer). Conversely, leaves grown in the shade tend to be thinner, with a greater surface area to capture more of the limited light. [6][7]

My Nero 600 Ms are setting figs on the plain leaved stems - but not (yet?) on the long fingered stems.  It's still late for New England.

Fignut, your Nero 600 looks identical to mine. I'm by Trenton Nj and mine only has tiny fig buds forming. I just started it from a cutting this year and it's 2' tall so it's probably not bad even if the figs don't ripen

My two look identical too -- but without the fig buds! :(  They're both healthy, bushy plants (roughly 3' x 3'); and one has a couple of brebas.  But there're no figs.

These are only 1 1/2 year-old trees, so maybe they will do better next year.  But FWIW, a Valle Negra that is the same age and 1/4 the size does have a half dozen figs and is forming more.  The VN has only the long-fingered leaves.

Mine has both leaves. One branch has single lobe spade leaves and the other long finger 5 love leaves.
