A new book has been issued: "Figues de tous pays ". Once again it is not available in English. The original book was written in Dutch (thanks Gene for your remark) and it is now available in French. According to editor description, among other things, this book describes 50 varieties in detail. The author is Peter Bauwens (I am not sure but I think he is Belgian). It is sold in Amazon.fr too. Sorry, I still haven't it so I can't opine.

I ordered it just now. I will translate it and say what it is about. I hope there is info about the cultivation and taking care of fig trees. By the way, does anyone know where to find this atlas for the african fig varieties? Can you make marmalades out of such figs?

If you want a good book about cultivation buy Baud's book, Pas a Pas. It is much better. I have both. Figues de Tous Pays has a few pretty pictures, recipes, and a variety list that has only very brief descriptions and even a few mistakes.
