I really do not know what is problem, It might need more calcium and water.

I have this problem earlier in my potted fig trees, I gave them some dolomitic lime, and also lime with fertilizer in water, and water them twice a day, this problem gone and all fig trees are full of new leaves.

However, My inground tree has same problem now, I gave them dolomitic lime power in soil and water them one per day.

Give it a shot of water-soluble fertilizer, give water on a schedule, and see if it responds.

It can be to lite water on the hottest days. I give it fertiliser quit often.
I use tomato fertiliser.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum but have been figging vicariously through my husband up until now. I found Ricky's post very helpful.
Our figs have been doing ok, but I had stunted growth on some of our hot peppers in ground and in pots also some of our olives were affected. After the post I started applying lyme and some fertilizer and started to see improvement this last week.

Thank you Ricky.

This is great resource for all plants and I enjoy it!!

Thanks for bumping this topic Sunnyfig, the visual posted by Ricky is really helpful, ive got 2 trees showing what this indicates is Potassium deficiency.I don't give these 2 trees extra potassium as I'm focusing on growth this year, only my in fruit varieties get a PK boost in addition to the general fertiliser I use,'ll add those 2 trees to the PK boost watering round to see if that helps

Have you tried mulching the pots? They might be drying out to quickly and the pot isn't retaining enough water. I've found that when I mulch the figs usually bounce back into action pretty quick. I recommend pine bark or pine nuggets for mulch.

If you are over fertilizing, when extremely hot, you could burn it.
I use slow release fertilizer and don't add any during the summer months.
If the pot sits in full sun, you could have root overheating which could also cause some leaves to die.
The fig could handle full sun, but in a small container, it's best to shelter the container from full sun.
