I've got 2 figs currently a Chicago hardy and a brown turkey and they seem to be doing well I'm a pretty big permaculture buff and an avid outdoorsman if anyone in the Rhode Island area would like to get together and Talk figs or take a ride around looking for trees to collect cuttings from send me a PM
Also here's a link to a walkthrough of my yard in early April when I started planting

thanks for your time happy planting

Welcome to this forum.

Hey Chad! Welcome. I too have planted a perma-culture yard. I hate watering grass that I can't eat. I have Grapes, Figs, Citrus, and assorted fruits. Once established they should all produce well. Nice to have you with us.

Welcome!  I'd be happy to talk or get together.  Where are you?  It's not like RI is a big state, but you know the problem -- it can take an hour and a half to get to a town that is just across the bay.

BTW, if you want to find trees for cuttings, just ask.  Almost everyone knows somebody who has a tree, usually started by their grandfather from a cutting carried from the old country.  Just don't risk your life cutting a tree without permission. :)

Joe

Yea I'm not that kind of person to walk into someone's yard without permission but I've seen a few trees by brown college and in a few Greek neighborhoods in Cranston id like to try to get some cuttings from

Welcome to the forum Chad! Most people with fig trees growing are happy to talk about them. I have found that an equal number are happy to share their cuttings with you!

Hey Chad and Joe. First, Chad welcome to the forum. Guys, I am not far from you, over in SE Ct.

welcome! And keep growing :)
