And now for a noob question. 

I have a Brown Turkey fig tree and have space for one more. I live in 9b zone (SF Bay Area). 
I would like a suggestion for a flavorful fig that would do well in this area. 

I have tasted the Panache (Striped or Tiger figs) and like them quite a bit and have seen posts talking about Violet de Bordeaux being a fig with great flavor. Can someone suggest one thats easy to maintain. I'm looking for deep, complex flavor not just plain sweet figs like the Kadota.

My experience is on the east coast zone 7 but the violette de Bordouex and the Ronde De Bordeaux are excellent choices for rich deep berry flavor. You will soon get far more responses from more experienced growers in your area. Good luck and welcome
