Bought this early on in my fig collecting days as Black Madeira. I purchased several trees from an infamous seller, all misnamed. This is the only one I kept, because it is an excellent tasting fig. I've been calling it White MAdeira, but now I'm thinking it might be Col de Dame Blanc as the leaves look just like my known CDDB. Anyway this was one that seemed unaffected by all our recent rain

Looks like a Black Madeira in a green fig costume, maybe?

Costumed figs now that's a thought lol. Martin fortunately I do have 2 true Black Madeira trees, both with fruit on them, so I should be able to finally get a taste of the real deal.

Can't wait to hear which you like better.  These figs have cloaked themselves on advice from Rafed to avoid being snatched by Martin.

Tam, I'm not the best at descriptive taste telling All I can say is it was extremely tasty and sweet. I know many talk about berry taste or melon etc, but to me it was just a really nice fig flavor I'd say it ranks highly amongst those I've had this year.
