Not Grise de S' Jean - what fig do i have?

Grise de S' Jean - Not!

I received this variety as cuttings from a friend that bought them in a French nursery (Cochet Frederic). They were probably labeled wrong.

Any suggestions on what variety do i have?
Noire de Barbentane, perhaps? Although they seem a bit small for that (35-40gr)...

A few photos of ripe figs. They were available in late August but the one's ripening now are much better - whatever it is.
This fig keeps on coming through August, September and into October.

Jamie,if it is a mislabelled tree, which it seems to be-nothing Grise about this one-at least it's pronably one of the dark figs they sell so it narrows your likely candidates!.Based on the size and appearance and going by their description maybe Sultane?,whatever it is it looks like a good fig and hopefully one you don't already have?

Sultane could be a good candidate. Do you have pictures of the leaves?

Here are leaf pics of my Sultane. The fruit look very similar, small, dark, red interior. My tree is one year old.

Thanks for your suggestions,

Sultane could be a good candidate, but it seems the leaves of my tree are different. I bought a Sultane from a different nursery and i don't think the leaves have the same pattern.

Here's the photos of my grafted "Grise de S'Jean" with young figs - It's the grafted branch in the center of the first and fourth photos.
They are not very good photos to see the leaf pattern but there are lots of one lobed leaves that my nursery bought Sultane doesn't have.

I included also a couple of photos of a rooted cutting in a pot.

I will try to get better leaf pattern photos to see if someone can help me identify it...

Definitly sultane.

Thanks, Marc.

It sure is the most likely candidate and i have learned the hard way that the leaf pattern sometimes is not definitive. Oh, well.

That means i have to go hunting for the real Grise de S' Jean again (one of my first list choices that i thought i had already secured)
It's the only french variety that i traded that doesn't come from Pierre Baud's nursery and it turns out it's not the right one. Probably just a coincidence - or not!

That's why Baud's nursery earned the reputation it has...

These guys have Gris St.Jean, they were recommended to me but I haven't used them yet,at EUR 6.90 it's not much of a financial risk though:

This is a good nursery also.

That's not Barbentane. The interior is much darker than your pics.
I just ate one yesterday.
