Where do you guys get the 1 gallon nursery pots.  I saw 100 for roughly $30 on ebay.  Is there any other sources you recommend.

You may try your local landscapers they usually do not recycle these pots.
You may get them free.

Spring is coming to town so if you wait a bit you you will be able to find landscapers who will surely give you free pots.

As long as you live in a large town you should be able to find them while you drive around town.

I find them thrown away all the time in all sizes. All free for the taking.

Recently we had a huge supply of very cheap pots from a Nursery which went belly-up. Otherwise, I have gotten them from B and T The price nearly doubles when you add in the UPS charges to CA, but they are way cheaper than any other online source I have found, and will ship.

Visit local plant retailers (nurseries) around late/spring or early/fall.
They tend to have plenty of small pots (also some real good big ones),
returned (mostly as garbage) from landscapers that originally bought the
plants. Most often, they are willing to give up for free, or very cheap...

Here I go to Publix super market they receive their fresh cut flowers in 3 gal buckets all i do is drill holes they are free for the asking here and some are of a heavier type plastic. So try your local super market Produce usually is in charge of floral at least it is here

Over the weekend my son brought me about 300 one gal pots --- all free from replanting exercise. A good place to get free pots of all sizes is at nurseries.
Some nurseries have recycle bins alloted for different pot sizes for the public to bring the pots to recycle the plastic. I have gotten some free 10 gal to 20 gal
pots from one nursery after asking whether I could have them from those recycle bins. Restaurants is another place where they throw out lots plastic buckets
of various sizes.

Darn. There were some new 60 5-gallon pots and similar number of 7-gallon pots that I could have picked up free but did not!
A friend of mine had rented out his house and was so happy when the rental cheque was delivered right on time for more than a year and a half. Such good tenants he had until one month the cheque did not come but the keys to the house came in the postal mail. He found the house a warm green tropical jungle left in a hurry with all huge fans running in the humid house with hundreds of plants at two levels of the three level house that later cost him fortune to fix despite insurance. The police was going through the situation so my friend told me not to rush in taking the new unused pots still in boxes. A week later when I visited the house, the house had been cleaned up including the gyproc and insulation from the walls and all pots (120+new and more than 150 pots with "plants" in it) had been sent to the dump. What a loss I said (selfishly thinking of the pots!). My friend did not have much control after informing the police and insurance.

Ottawan, 3 yrs ago I was visiting a friend & saw a few guys tossing all kinds of stuff into the dumper. I saw some nice 5 gal pots and asked whether I could have them --- I could have all they said. But being new to figging, I told myself 20 would be plentiful. Well, now I need another 100. It was a grow op.

I think almost all large towns have some sort of nursery supply house.  I got on the horn and located one in Broken Arrow, OK (suburb of Tulsa).  Prices were very reasonable and I drive through there two or three times a week.  Did not buy any because I got a stash of recycles from a local nursery.
