Morning fellow fig lovers.  I started my fig addiction at a local farmer's market here in Camp Verde AZ zone 8a with a now dear friend's IBT (Daisy's IBT posts) fall of 2015. I am now the proud momma (thanks in no small part to the generosity of the members here) of a few trees ranging in age from 3 years to 6 months.  Now the question is where do I plant them to have the best chance of their survival.  I can plant them here in Camp Verde zone 8a or in Phoenix Arizona or at the beach in Rocky Point Mexico.  I would really appreciate any comments that could assist me with these choices.  And thank you again for the amazing sharing of support and friendship along with the precious fig cuttings/trees.  Warmly, Jodi

Hi Jodi,

I think I'd take the ones that need a longer season,Preto,Black Madeira, etc and plant them in
Mexico. The short season varieties I'd be tempted to keep local.

Nice collection you've got going there.Your cuttings are doing well and are about to be up potted
to a #2.

Hey Paul thanks for the suggestions.  I reorganized the list into three parts, cold hardy, not so cold hardy and the ones I have no idea about.  Do you have any more comments on who can go into the cold hardy or not so cold hardy categories?  Hope your lovely orchard is surviving all the rains.  Cheers, Jodi
