My 5 gallon Olympian produced 2 nice sized brebas, which I picked and enjoyed this morning. One weighed in at 79 grams, and the other 63. I very much enjoy the flavor and texture of this one. Not overly sweet, thin skin, light seed crunch, and a lingering fig flavor. It's a nice looking fig as well, IMO.

Very nice. I bought a couple of tissue culture ones off of ebay. They are tiny even. I live in the seattle area and found a larger plants in a federal way nursery last weekend. I'm looking forward to trying these. Thanks for sharing.

Update, picked a breba from mine today and it was excellent.  I see this variety becoming popular in the future.

What a pretty fig.  I am now extra excited that this is one of the last varieties I have coaxed into rooting.  Thanks Gary for the beautiful pics.  You could make a painting out of that one.  Happy figging, Jodi

See this story:

http://www.thenewstribune.com/living/article25888723.html

After three years, I have figs for the first time on my tree this season. Looking forward to sampling the fruit.

" Olympian was confirmed to be a distinct cultivar via DNA testing when compared with the 270 varieties at the USDA ARS Germplasm Repository in California." According to one nursery.
