Many figs vary in flavors, but I'm usually able to describe their flavors. This fig made me speechless. Last year it was excellent when I tasted them for the first time, but this fig was just amazing. 
Once it's fully ripe it oozes honey.

It has been a tough Friday. Thanks Jason I needed that :). On another note. Bass, the Sumacki I got from you a couple of weeks ago is growing good. It seems to like the Florida yard. Nice to see some photos of what I can look forward to next year.

Man, what happeend to that guy?  Haven't seen him all year.  He's one of a couple I've been thinking about lately that totally cracked me up.

Yep, I really miss oldghost. But before he disappeared I got a J-LO cutting from him. It is growing well after a long hard start. I can only hope and wish that it is the same fig as Sumacki. If it is I'll be one lucky guy from the looks of Bass's picture.

Those figs from that link look very similar to Bass' photos. Adding that baby to my wish list.

I'll have to add to my list also. The Sumacki Butt Fig from Syria. See how figs get new names.

Not all the figs on this tree has a butt. lol 
Last year was the first time it bears and these figs were smaller, but as it matured it put on lots of figs that are large and excellent tasting. 

So, is the Sumacki fig a honey fig?

Yes, Donna read Bass's initial post, and look at the picture. It is a honey fig.

It does ooz honey at the eye, but depends what you refer to as a honey fig. To me honey fig are any figs that has a pulp like honey in color and taste. Usually usually yellow skin and yellow pulp.

Yes, some fig fruits, once in awhile, do 'deform' to some very odd/mysterious shapes...

Heard nothing but raving feedback about Sumaki fig. It is on my wish list and ca't wait to buy either cuttings or a live plant.

What is the availability of Sumaki? Another year, twos years before it is widely available?
