You are welcome Pete. Just wanted to hear others impressions of this fig too. It is not the prettiest fruit but it has its positive qualities.

Thanks for taking the time to update the forum with info on your OP. Great looking composition of figs on your plate, and I always enjoy close-up shots of nice figs right on the branches like pix no. 4.
Good luck next year with the tree that didn't produce. I wonder if it just didn't get the proper dosage of daily sun?
Thanks again for posting!

A productive tree. As is my tree has hundreds of main crop figs. Researchers in Hawaii conducted test on a bunch of figs & found Osborne Prolific has the highest indicates sugar content. It is a reliable variant here.

Mark, Paully and Michael thank you for your comments and feedback! Does anyone know if the fruit ripens over a extended period of time when grown in ground?

When grown in ground, the tree takes longer to fruit because it puts all its energy in setting up roots. When in pots instead it fruits faster but then it gets root bound. The one inground instead when it starts producing will produce more and more.

Ruvan, Thanks for the Update. If it was purchased commercially, could you please name the source of your tree? I'm interested in comparing to the ones from Edible Landscaping. Attached picture is one purchased this winter. Thanks.Inline image
