I recently came across a group of poncirus trifoliata trees with mature fruit. The seeds are fresh and should germinate well. For anyone that likes citrus they are a citrus cousin useful as an ornamental plant, cold hardy dwarfing rootstock and as a mean hedge. The thorns are 1/2"-3" long, looks a bit like maleficent's creations, and the flowers are incredibly aromatic. Unlike citrus it is not an evergreen plant, so it drops leaves in fall. Sometimes they hold onto leaves two seasons so it's doesn't completely defoliate every year. If you manage to sprout some, plant them in a 5-1-1 mix for good drainage. Foliage pro 9-3-6 is great for citrus food. Cold hardy to zone 6 or zone 5 with protection from wind when established. The fruit is tiny and very seedy, about 2" diameter, and really no good for eating. But the trees are very impressive and the fruit would be great for throwing at raccoons! I have 16 packs of 20 seeds each for anyone interested. I'm just asking postage of $10 to make life easy, they will ship in a padded envelope and costs vary by destination. Please pm me if interested, it will grow outdoors for the majority of members here and I have far more seeds than i need. Seeds were harvested 11/26/16. Thanks,
Devin
