I've been struggling in my garden with some kind of bug that is eating my squash and zucchini roots. It's some kind of grub or worm or something. I see very small bugs that look like aphids eating the roots but I'm not sure if they are the main culprit. I do not think it's squash borers because they drill in from the outside and eat from the inside out. I'm not seeing that. One day the plants are fine and the next they are dead.

Does anyone use Neem pellets or is there something you would recommend? There is still time this season so I'd like to replant, but I want to prepare/amend the soil first.

Im having a similar problem as well.Because all rain we've
been getting here in la.,my cantaloupe and honeydew melon are rotting at the base of the vine.
