Martin, that is one impressive catch, and what's even more impressive that you let it go, very nature-humble of you. Thanks for sharing the info about this wonderful creature.

Excellent pictures Dave, looks like a wonderful life!!

I NEED to know what is the Golden Chicken award

Here's me and another picture of me and our turkey who thinks he's a person, Turkleberry.Me and Turkleberry.jpg

This is me playing "pirate" with my nephew a couple of weeks ago.  The floor in this room was the ocean, but our ship was docked in another room, so we were using a couple of mats as rafts to get across--I'd toss one out in front, we'd hop onto it, then I'd pick up the one we just hopped off of and toss it out front, and so on.

I don't have any fishing pics, but here's a pic of some fish in the pond I built in my garden :)

We had a large family gathering at our little "farm" including a pie eating contest (oops, they were still frozen), goat poop bingo and chicken races. The winning team was awarded the Golden Chicken - actually a rubber chicken painted gold.

As long as it lays gold eggs. I been looking for one of those to bankroll some figs

I don't think I've posted to this thread before and took a couple of "selfies" on Saturday.  They seemed popular with some friends so I thought I'd share them here now that I'm feeling better.

I'd rather not go into full details about what happened.  My 16 year old son feels very bad about it and I think he's learned a lesson about giving another person a warning about when you really need to drop your end of a 25' long 200 pound iron pipe.  I did a lot of yelling at the time while in agony but told him later that I was not mad at him which he didn't seem to want to believe.

Maybe I should have shaved first?

Holy cow, man, I'm glad it wasn't any worse.

Definitely shave prior to taking 'selfies'.  ;)
Hope that goose egg goes down quickly, it'll be tender for sure.
Take care.

on a side note, I just went thru this whole thread very cool!

But Chuck, no fishing pictures???

Ouch, Harvey! Not a good way to start the Summer.

Maybe you should have that pipe guard your figs.  Seems like it knows how to handle itself.

My wife and I.  We will be together for 34 years this November.

Nice pic hope it didn’t hurt too much but I see your busted forehead and raise you a black eye, smashed nose and transected upper lip

There's a chance I may have it play a role in doing that.  My orchard will be one acre when I'm done planting it next year and if bird damage is too significant I may cover the entire orchard with netting, using this pipe and others and cable for the support structure.  There is a not of natural gas drilling done on and around my farm so I grab any old pipe that the drillers want to get rid of.  I used some much larger 6" and 8" pipe for the support structure for my pole barn.

wish Jon would pin this.

grad photo.JPG
This pic is at my son's graduation from med school at U. of Cincinnati last month.  Very proud of the hard work he put in to get there!
At graduation for a doctoral student, the grads are 'hooded' - usually one of the faculty places the 'hood' over the graduate's head.  Since my wife and I are both physicians, they allowed us to be guest 'hooders' for him at the grad ceremony.
And I'm just as proud of my daughter standing next to me in the pic, she will graduate from P.T. school next year.

Sorry no fishing pics, I never catch much worth pictures.  Maybe I should post a pic of me holding bait or something :)

- Harvey, I for a second thought you finally got caught on getting figs and fig cuttings...from your neighbors, LOL

That's a nasty bump, I hope you are feeling better.

- Charlie, you two look great, 34 years....wow.

- Ed, congratulations to your son, a proud parents with a son following his footsteps. Gorgeous family :)
