Powdered Oxygen. GrotekĀ® Oxy-Cal is a time-released supply of calcium and oxygen for the soil. Oxygen is a life-line for all living organisms and is required by all plants throughout their life cycle for optimum growth. Oxy-Cal increases the microbial activity to provide a strong, disease-resistant growth medium. This enables the plants to better absorb and use the available nutrients and water. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Mix thoroughly with soil at the following rates: Gardens - Use 250 ml (8.75 oz.) per 100 sq. ft. or 20 kg per acre. Potting Soil - Mix 9 grams (1 tsp) per 4 liters (1 gallon) of growing media or 4 Tbsp per cubic feet.

I am just looking for better results, if it helps them grow better and keeps them from getting root rot then I am all for it. Just wondering if anyone had already tried it.

The tub says it's corrosive. Does it become un corrosive when it's in the soil? Thanks for the link, noss

It releases Oxygen and that is what is corrosive. I would keep it away from metals and be careful to not get it in my eyes etc.

Also called calcium peroxide, it slowly releases oxygen when exposed to water. It's also found in 'whitening' toothpaste and as a conditioner in bread flour. I'd keep the $20. A commercial use is to treat contaminated soils - ones that smell like rotten eggs. I have enough difficulty trying to duplicate mother nature, let alone trying to make improvements. John zone 9b
