Parafilm tape - found us business that ships it to Canada

Maybe there is a company that sells parafilm tape in Canada but I couldn't find it!

Today I ordered 2 rolls from a company in Conway, MA.  The price per roll was $4.00 and the shipping to Canada using usps was $5.79.  Of course, I don't know if I have to pay duties and taxes once it arrives.

Here is the link in case anyone is interested:

Search Amazon

Go with Parafilm "M".  It stretches and more delicate for new growth.

The roll I found was @ $25 without shipping US.

I did not want to spend that much on tape, but I feel it was worth it.

Mike:  Unfortunately the price for Parafilm M that you mention is about $53 cdn (includes shipping).  I checked amazon.com and they don't ship it to Canada.

I will see how the one that I ordered works out.  If it doesn't, then I might be buying the Parafilm M.

Joe,

I should have checked with you before I got my furnace last week, lol.

That's what I ordered and it is available from many sellers on ebay and aliexpress. It's good, I used it to wrap some new cuttings last week. It does take longer to ship from these shady Chinese places but it arrived eventually.

I have a furnace guy... And I can get you a heck of a deal on new tires!   ;-)

You find the BEST deals! Maybe I should get you to do my searches.  I'm tempted to order this to see how long it takes to arrive and how well it works compared to the parafilm I ordered.

Just be careful, I got 2 cheap Tapes 200 meter long from Ebay seller from China, It costs $1 to $1.5  included shipping, I really doubt that it is parafilm, It is more like food wrap tape, I do not know the difference.
I may be wrong, I think that parafilm tape is an excellent breathable moisture barrier, while this tape may not be breathable.

Angela, I think that as long as it is less than $20, your shipment should be duty free and hopefully no broker fee,  If they use USPS, it can go up to $200 and no broker fee.

Thanks Ricky for the information.  Yes, they are shipping it using USPS since that is what I requested.

Thank you Portfirio and less than one hour from where I live!!  Good price!  Maybe next time I should check with forum members first.

What Joe listed is definitely not real parafilm, just a thin plastic film, but it will do the job.  I ordered a similar one from a Chinese vendor for couple of dollars (it took about 5 weeks to deliver!).  Buds would not be able to break thru it, so I'd not wrap it over the buds.  Also, it does not break down like parafilm would, so it needs to be removed once rooting is done or when the graft takes.  I worked quite well for me last year when I was rooting some cuttings.  Also, I used it for some bench grafting on some pears and they worked fine.

Just an update.

When I ordered the parafilm (2 rolls actually) from the company in the States I was not charged duty and it arrived in less than a week.

It sounds you guys are trying grafting figs/fruits trees. :)
usually there is no duty for items of below 20 CAD dollars value.

Joe,

Actually I bought the Parafilm  to prevent moisture loss when rooting cuttings. I was going to try rooting cuttings without the cup on top.  So far I have only used it on two cuttings.

Maybe in a few years I will try grafting but right now that isn't something that I am interested in.

Glad you all found a source for parafilm. If you hadn't, I would have gladly mailed them to you.
